DRE222
Dre222 was raised by a reclusive group of Yeti in a wooded area surrounded by cornfields. Life among the Yeti was meager and difficult, but spiritually fulfilling. Many did not believe the Yeti existed and, upon coming into contact with Dre, the human community eventually forced her to give up her Yeti heritage to move in with a human family. Her time among the Yeti sparked her interest in all things natural and supernatural.
Upon entering the human community, she had to unlearn all she had previously learned and was transformed into a grounded skeptic. This skepticism about her origins (even though she had lived it) allowed her to retain perspective on human culture, specifically pop culture. One pop culture event that transformed Dre was her first exposure to the Star Wars universe. This universe intrigued her in ways that nothing since her futile expeditions to rejoin the Yeti had. Through this universe, Dre was finally able to reconcile the natural ways of the Yeti, the human ways of technology, and her own views of human dependency on mob mentality in a way that allowed her to finally make sense of the traps of society.
Dre chose to attend university to further her learning in this mysterious realm of pop culture. Through many libations and social functions, Dre was allowed to explore and embrace many subsets of today’s culture. Instead of joining one of these inclusive brotherhoods, Dre strove to forge her own path on the road to cultural enlightenment. This path was based exclusively on her own opinions and interests.
Throughout her university years and her venture into the so-called “real world,” Dre strove to bring her knowledge of human fallacies and societal traps to the masses. Finally, the path became clear and her venture into the blogosphere was complete. Dre began with small posts to a blog called Shawed. As the depth of posts increased, Dre was finally forced to turn her blog into a more encompassing and personal place for showcasing her writing and theories about humans. This move caused her blog to undergo a metamorphosis into a new host of events and theories of personal relevance entitled No Disintegrations. With the move to the new format, Dre finally felt ready to move into the sphere of group blogging and recently joined Pop Culture Panopticon.
Now, through Trevor Danger’s uncanny editing abilities, Dre’s thoughts can be showcased in an appropriate format for all readers.
Dre222 is a published author and has formal education in the creative writing of fiction and poetry. Over the years she has won praise and prizes for many of her writing and artistic endeavors. Dre contributes as a pop culture reviewer to many internet sites and programs and manages several internet sites. She is currently working on her first Flash feature film and non-fiction book. Dre remains a dedicated Star Wars aficionado and collector. She currently resides in Ohio with her significant other, Pregremlin, and two cats, Sam and Gandalf.
